Capella Matter Banners
After our collaboration with Cole & Weber on the design and development of the Washington Lottery mobile site, we were tasked with the development and production of a major series of interactive banners for Capella University.
We developed an animation style through tests and boards, concepted how the interactive banners would work, and developed an Actionscript 3 framework that could be extended to create new banners quickly while maintaining consistency. The framework handled transitions and timing without any timeline transitions or code, so the animations could be tweaked quickly via coded parameters.
After mocking up visuals for standard banner sizes, interactive, and rich media banners with video, we developed a set of 30 banners: multiple sizes, graphics and animations. These were integrated with Google's DoubleClick Studio, helping prep the banners for tracking and creating polite loads and expanding interactive advertisements in the case of the rich video banners.
The banners were featured across the web and also a full page takeover on the NY Times. You can see a sampling of some of the banners here.
