John Keatley is a local Seattle photography hero. Chances are you've seen his work many times on the cover of the Seattle Times and other publications. You'll also probably be immediately familiar with his clientele; Annie Leibovitz, Tim Gunn, and Sarah Palin have all posed for portraits. So, when designer Greg Lutze and John approached Typeoneerror to handle development of a new website, we were thrilled.
John's previous site was an award-winning photography site as well. However, given the current mobile climate and the fact that the old site was Flash, John was interested in a more device-friendly site, and an easier to update content management system. We strategized and built a scalable publishing platform around a Wordpress installation—something John was familiar with from years of blogging—and added some dynamic Javascript to display his photos as large as possible using a scalable image grid which sorts itself to fill the screen. A number of custom Wordpress plugins and widgets make the site a complete management suite while allowing full access to powerful blogging software.
